I was so proud of her! We are still working on other dishes, but she did a great job and I can't wait to she what else she come up with.
This weekend was a girl's weekend. Destiny and I left on Friday to head to Gammy & Poppa T's house for a March Birthday Party and to get some special time with Aimee, her new-found cousin! We spent most of the day on Saturday with Aimee shopping for swimsuits. I have to say that my mom had it easy. I never really had the body that would allow me to wear a bikini. However, Aimee and Destiny do. Even though I have only had her for 4 1/2 months it was tough to see her in a bikini, knowing that she will be wearing it in public. So I can only imagine what other mothers feel. As awkward as it was, we did have a great time spending time with Aimee and Aunt Christy. That afternoon, we had a March Birthday fest for my mom's side of the family. I have to be honest, I was a little nervous. Destiny has yet to meet this side of my family. However, it turned out just great!! You can tell, that Destiny is really starting to fit in and become a part of the family.
Josh and I know that God put this calling on our lives. So no matter what happens we know that this is what we are meant to do. However, it is continually humbling to see how God can open hearts and minds through this situation. Every one of our family members have been so open-armed, welcoming Destiny not only into their family but into their hearts! It truly blesses my heart to see the love and support for me and Josh from family members and friends. I can't wait to see how God continues to make Destiny that missing puzzle piece.
This week we have a special someone turning 15. We have some fun things planned. So be sure to check back next week to see how our adventure celebrating a teenagers birthday turns out.
